Contact House Scheme


The Army Welfare Service Contact House Scheme has been set up to provide comfortable, safe and affordable short-term family accommodation for use by serving personnel.  Priority is given to: estranged personnel with visiting rights for their children, close relatives visiting very seriously injures or seriously injured service personnel, or other welfare reasons are  the discretion of the Welfare Officer.  

The houses may also be used for rest and recuperation when they are not being occupied for the above reasons.  Bookings for rest and recuperation will only be taken outside school holidays and will not take priority.

Close relatives are defined as parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters of the serving person and his/her spouse.   

The Contact House at Dishforth Airfield is situated at 1 The Crescent and is a 3 bed roomed property, it has a double bedroom with cot, a twin room and a single.  The property is fully furnished and bedding is provided.  There is a washer and condenser dryer which you are welcome to use during your visit.

The cost of hire is £25.00 per night (minimum stay 2 nights unless by prior agreement  with the Welfare Officer)
